“Top Gun: Maverick” Now Paramount’s Highest Grosser Ever

Tom Cruise in "Top Gun: Maverick"

Top Gun: Maverick has been making headlines and breaking records ever since its premiere on May 27. Within 31 days of its release, Maverick surpassed the $1 billion benchmark at the worldwide box office. Now, just a few days after it achieved the $600 million mark in the US, the movie starring Tom Cruise has grossed more than $600 million internationally. As it is heading into its eighth week of global release, the action film has soared past $1.2 billion, making it Paramount Pictures’ highest-grossing film ever globally, beating the number of Transformers: Age Of Extinction. Overseas Maverick holds third place.

Currently Maverick is the biggest Paramount live-action movie of all time in 28 markets outside the US, including the UK, France, Brazil, and Australia.

What the future has in store for Maverick is unknown, but it is certain that the film will not lose its momentum soon.

Valeri Vankov: I recently graduated high school and will be moving from Bulgaria to attend Yale University in the fall. My interests range from data science to finance to trends in the entertainment industry. When it comes to movies, I am always down for a good social commentary or a psychological thriller. K-dramas are also on my watchlist. In my free time I enjoy going outdoors and reading the works of Haruki Murakami, Kurt Vonnegut, and others.
