Uncharted has officially entered production following years of numerous delays and will feature Tom Holland and Mark Wahlberg. Upon being on set Tom Holland immediately took to social media and provided long time fans with an update regarding the progress of the film according to Movieweb.com.
Video game fanatics have been craving over a decade for the adaptation, and for an extent the film did not appear to fruition. Following the release of Spider-Man: Far From Home and the studio announcing that Holland would portray the principal protagonist, Nathan Drake, fans began to clamor. Right before production commenced however COVID-19 ran rampant across the world and shut down all Hollywood productions.
By the graces of proper social distancing, Tom Holland and Mark Wahlberg were given the thumbs up to return to the Uncharted set. In a new Instagram Live video, Holland set up a forum with fans and answered an array of questions. When the subject of Uncharted arose, Holland said, “Filming is going so well. The film is like, everything I dreamed it would be. I mean, I don’t know if you guys played the games, but I was such a huge fan of the game, and it’s been going so well.”
Earlier this year, Tom Holland gave Uncharted fans a ballpark estimate as to when the film would be completed to which he believes early 2021.
“The script’s really good, man,” Holland responded to a fan. “The script is really, really good. It’s really strong. It’s really, really funny. The dynamic between Sully and Drake is amazing, and Mark Wahlberg is going to crush it as Sully. And it’s a really, really fun film.”
