Tom Holland suffered an injury while in the U.K. on set for Spider-Man: Brand New Day on Friday, as reported by The Hollywood Reporter.

The injury is a mild concussion, and Holland will return to production after a several-day break. Sony, which is behind the movie, met today to discuss how to move forward with the production. Nobody else was injured on set.

Brand New Day is one of, if not the most important, films on Sony’s upcoming slate. The previous film, Spider-Man: No Way Home, remains the studio’s highest-grossing movie of all time with $1.91 billion in ticket sales. The film that preceded it, Spider-Man: Far From Home, became the first Spider-Man movie to surpass $1 billion, and was the second film for Sony, after the James Bond film Skyfall.

This Spidey film is also important for the future of Marvel Studios, which co-produces the film with Sony, as it is the only movie preceding Avengers: Doomsday.

While the previous Spidey films were directed by Jon Watts, the newest installment is directed by Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings director Destin Daniel Cretton. Marvel alumni, Mark Ruffalo (Hulk/BruceBanner) and Jon Bernthal (The Punisher/Frank Castle), join the cast, while Zendaya and Jacob Batalon are returning members. Fresh additions to the cast include Sadie Sink, Tramell Tillman, Liza Colón-Zayas and Michael Mando. While he was teased as the Scorpion in Spider-Man: Homecoming, he will have a full role in this film.

Brand New Day swings into theaters on July 31, 2026.
