Todd McFarlane’s ‘Spawn’ Finds Star in Jamie Foxx

Jamie Foxx before his transformation to Electro

Jamie Foxx will officially star in the upcoming film Spawn as the “human-turned-Hellspawn” anti-hero with extreme strength, speed, near immortality, teleportation, shape-shifting, and healing abilities.

The character was originally written in 1992 by Todd McFarlane. McFarlane now will write, direct, and help produce the upcoming film.

This will not be the first time that the Spawn character will be adapted for the screen. Michael Jai White starred in the 1997 film by New Line, and HBO created an animated series about the character which harbored three seasons and two Emmy awards.

Foxx is no stranger to superhero films. He was most recently in The Amazing Spiderman 2 as Electro. Foxx can also been seen in the upcoming Robin Hood: Origins as Little John.
