After an almost 15 year wait, the Motley Crue biopic, which follows the 80s hair-band from the early days, through conquering life challenges and drug addiction, is moving forward on Netflix.
Jeff Tremaine is due to direct the film, which is adapted from the best-selling autobiography written by the band and author Neil Strauss. Douglas Booth has been cast as Nikki Sixx, and Machine Gun Kelly will play drummer Tommy Lee.
Iwan Rheon (Game of Thrones) is in talks to play guitarist Mick Mars and Daniel Webber (The Punisher) to play frontman Vince Neil.
The script was written by Rich Wilkes, Tom Kapinos and Amanda Adelson and the real Motley Crue are co-producing. Julie Yorn, Erik Olsen and Allen Kovac are producing. Chris Nilsson, Steven Kline and Rick Yorn are executive producing.
The Dirt,will go into production starting February.
