Most movies of late have run into at least a few dilemmas due to the pandemic, but Zack Snyder‘s upcoming zombie film Army of the Dead hit another roadblock when actor and comedian Chris D’Elia was accused of sexual harassment of minors this past June. The actor was involved in the film’s principal production last year, alongside cast including Dave Bautista, Ana de la Reguera, and Ella Purnell. Now, in the middle of post production, reshoots have been scheduled to place comedian Tig Notaro in D’Elia’s place according to Hollywood Reporter.
The reshoots will be done with a combination of green screen and CGI to integrate her into the film as seamlessly as possible. Notaro has recently been seen on screen in Amazon Prime series One Mississippi and Star Trek: Discovery in addition to her many stand up specials. She also made a memorable impression after her battle with breast cancer was documented in the 2015 Netflix documentary Tig. Notaro’s statement about joining the cast amidst a complication situation can be seen below.
Little is known about this project aside from that it takes place in Las Vegas and follows a group of survivors who attempt to pull off a risky heist. The film was already well into post production when the pandemic halted the film’s progress, but did not yet have a scheduled release date. Reshoots are said to begin as soon as it is safe to do so.
