Milo Ventimiglia, who is best known for his roles on Gilmore Girls and the Golden Globe winning This is Us, could be making another leap to the big screen in film adaptation of The Art of Racing in the Rain. Fans can be relieved though, as Ventimiglia promises not to leave the show for the film, which he told the Hollywood Reporter in an interview this week.
So far, Simon Curtis, from last year’s Goodbye Christopher Robin, is on board to direct the film and Neal Moritz will produce along with Tania Landau and Patrick Dempsey.
The project has gone through two other production companies as Universal was the first to look at the project in 2009 and were considering Dempsey to star. Dempsey eventually dropped out, causing the project to stall, and then Disney picked it up in 2016 with Fast and the Furious producer Moritz.
Now it’s all up to Fox 2000 and Ventimiglia’s star power to see if this film will see the light of day. Only time will tell.
