The sixth annual Kodak film awards are being held on February 23, 2024, with the American Society of Cinematographers in Los Angeles.
Kodak described the awards saying, “The annual KODAK Film Awards recognize acclaimed visual artists who are unyielding in their artistic process and key industry partners who meaningfully contribute to the worldwide ecosystem for analog film.”
Ava DuVernay and Andrew Haigh are each receiving the Auteur award for their work on Origin and All of Us Strangers. Celine Song is receiving the debut feature award for Past Lives according to The Hollywood Reporter. Prime Video’s television show Swarm will be honored with the television series of the year award. Christopher Nolan’s Oppenheimer is receiving the Lumiere award for a distinguished career in cinematography, this award is going to the cinematographer Hoyte Van Hoytema.
Vanessa Bendetti, Head of Motion Picture and Entertainment for Kodak, said in a statement, “We’re excited to celebrate a great year for the film medium. In an era dominated by digital content, artists who create with film – whether for features, television, commercials or music videos – continue to carve out a distinctive niche.”
There will also be a lifetime achievement award. It has not yet been disclosed who will be receiving this award.
