The Predator Takes On An Apex Monster In The New ‘Predator: Badlands’ Trailer

The official trailer for Predator: Badlands has just been released. The film is directed by Dan Trachtenberg, who also directed Prey, and it stars Elle Fanning (Super 8 and Maleficent) and Dimitrius Schuster-Koloamatangi (Red, White & Brass).

In the trailer, we are presented with the concept of the film. One of the Predators has set off on their first hunt, and they have chosen the most dangerous planet of all as their hunting grounds.

The trailer starts with Fanning’s android character being repaired. We then see the Predator land on the hostile planet and gear up. The Predator (Dimitrius Schuster-Koloamatangi) becomes allies with the android (Elle Fanning), and together they embark on their journey to become the apex predator on this planet. To do so they must take out the planet’s current apex predator, a creature that “can’t be killed.” Through a montage of intense battle scenes we come to understand just how intense this movie will be.

Having a story that focuses on the Predator as the protagonist is not entirely new to the franchise. Films like Alien vs. Predator also presented the Predators as helpful towards the main characters. Having a movie that puts so much focus on the Predator will surely be a very interesting watch, providing the audience with more information about how these creatures operate.
