The wait is finally over; the first look at the anticipated sequel to The Devil Wears Prada has been released. The original film, released in 2006, was described as a “phenomenon that defined a generation,” allowing audiences to gain insight into the behind-the-scenes world of working in the fashion industry in New York City and the essential role magazines play in it.
Now, after nearly twenty years, Meryl Streep and Anne Hathaway are set to make their iconic returns as Miranda and Andy, respectively. Emily Blunt and Stanley Tucci are set to reprise their roles as Emily and Nigel, as well as Tracie Thoms and Tibor Feldman as Lily and Irv. Of course, with this sequel, fans should expect some fresh but familiar faces, as the star-studded cast includes Kenneth Branagh, Simon Ashley, Lucy Liu, Justin Theroux, B.J. Novak, Pauline Chalamet, Rachel Bloom, Patrick Brammall, Dontella Versace, Lady Gaga, and Sydney Sweeney.
The sequel also sees original director David Frankel take the reins once again, with a screenplay written by Aline Brosh McKenna, who penned the original script. Michael Bederman, Karn Rosenfelt, and McKenna are credited as executive producers, while Wendy Finerman is named as a producer.
The Devil Wears Prada 2 is set to release in theaters on May 1st, 2026.
