‘The Office’ Alumni Steve Carell and John Krasinski Reunite for Paramount’s ‘IF’

Deadline has reported that former The Office co-stars Steve Carell and John Krasinski will reunite for the first time since the show in Krasinski’s newest project, IF. Both Carrell and Krasinski will star in the film with Ryan Reynolds, Fiona Shaw, and Phoebe Waller-Bridge, who are also set to join the pair along with Alan Kim, Cailey Fleming, and Louis Gossett Jr.

The film is Krasinski’s third outing with Paramount Pictures after his massively successful A Quiet Place and A Quiet Place Part II from 2018 and 2021, respectively. Similar to the aforementioned A Quiet Place films, Krasinski will write, direct, and produce IF through his company, Sunday Night. In addition to starring in the film, Ryan Reynolds will also produce via his production company, Maximum Effort. George Dewey is also onboard as executive producer.

Details are scarce on the film for the moment, but the story will be based on Krasinski’s idea of a child rediscovering their imagination. It’s sure to have a family-oriented tone and already has the appeal of three prominent comedic actors in Krasinski, Reynolds, and Carrell, along with two young actors in Kim and Fleming.

IF is set to release on November 17, 2023.
