Who doesn’t love a good drama film about fashion? Honesty, who is going to turn down seeing House of Gucci? It’s two hot topics of fashion and murder in one irresistible package.
According to Deadline, it looks like another fashion drama film is in the works. The director that brought together Ryan Gosling and Rachel McAdams in tear-fest The Notebook, Nick Cassavetes, is going to co-write a fashion drama Couture with Sean Glover (Beast of Burden). Cassavetes is even in talks to direct the drama, and if it’s anything like The Notebook, fans will be in for a treat if he directs the film.
The Notebook came out in 2004 and made over $117 million worldwide.
Couture depicts a renowned fashion designer whose business has been put on hold due to her daughter’s mental illness. It is to be understood that the piece will highlight the impact schizophrenia has on teenagers and their loved ones.
“For quite some time now, we have been speaking with psychiatrists, psychologists, and mental health advocacy groups on ways we can give a voice to some of the challenges people in the mental health community face that sometimes not even their family members are aware of,” Glover said. “We decided to make a film that takes a genuine look at what it is like living with a mental illness, and I couldn’t be more thrilled Nick is leading the ship of bringing this story to life.”
Cassavetes just completed the action-thriller God Is a Bullet, starring Jamie Foxx, Nikolaj Coster-Waldau, and January Jones.
