Warner Bros. has dropped the official trailer for The Nice Guys, a new comedic crime thriller starring Russell Crowe (Les Misérables) and Ryan Gosling (The Big Short) – both of whom teased their brimming chemistry while co-presenting at the most recent Oscar telecast. Shane Black, of Iron Man 3 and Kiss Kiss Bang Bang fame, directed and cro-wrote the screenplay along with Anthony Bagarozzi.
Set in Los Angeles in the 1970s, a downtrodden private eye (Gosling) is forced to partner up with a hired enforcer (Crowe) to solve the case of a missing girl – something which may or may not be related to the recent death of a porn star. Through the investigation, the duo uncover a shocking conspiracy that may includes the highest reaches of power. Matt Bomer (Magic Mike XXL), Yaya DaCosta (The Kids Are All Right), Keith David (Crash) and Oscar winner Kim Basinger (L.A. Confidential) round out the ensemble cast.
The Nice Guys opens on May 20th. Check out the latest trailer below:
