The New Trailer for ‘Skyscaper’ Brings 3500 Feet of Thrills

Whatever you do, don’t look down while you’re watching the newest trailer for Rawson Marshall Thurber‘s sky-high thriller Skyscraper.

Unlike the first two trailers, we see a nearly full-fledged scene as Dwayne Johnson takes a literal and terrifying leap of faith in order to save not only his own life, but his family’s as well.

The trailer begins with the scene featuring a scared and adrenaline-filled Will Sawyer (Johnson) as he secures his prosthetic leg which we are sure will be of huge significance throughout the film. Will breaks open a wall-length window with a piece of furniture that he’s re-purposed as a battering ram. Once he has his way out, and once he accepts that “this is stupid,” he makes his attempted descent via a make-shift harness.

Now that he’s 3500 feet up in the open air with nothing keeping him from falling except his rope and his determination to survive for his family. He slowly makes his way to the humongous wind turbine (now nearly engulfed in flame), with a quick count, he jumps his way through, but then the real danger ensues.

As the flames explode through the turbine, he only has a second to jump for his life. Now he’s literally hanging on by a thread, and, just when everyone thinks things couldn’t possibly get worse, his prosthetic begins to detach, and his only means of safety is fleeting.

As the trailer continues, we see just how detrimental survival is for Will and for his family, but one phrase sticks out among the madness of the situation, and we hope it stands true throughout the whole film: “We got this.”

Cast alongside Johnson in this Universal Pictures film are Neve Campbell, Pablo Schreiber, Kevin Rankin, and many others.

The film is set for theatrical release on July 13, 2018.
