‘The Kissing Booth’ Star Joey King Joins Brad Pitt in Sony’s ‘Bullet Train’

Joey King, the star of Netflix’s rom-com The Kissing Boothis currently in talks to join Brad Pitt in Sony‘s upcoming project Bullet TrainThe action-thriller is directed by none other than Hobbs & Shaw director David Leitch, who will also produce and supervise the script, written by Zak Olkewicz.

There have been lots of recent updates about Bullet Train, with Leitch attaching himself to the project just last month and Pitt joining shortly after. This would mark Pitt’s next feature project after his first Oscar win with Once Upon A Time In Hollywood.

Not much is known about the plot details for Bullet Train. However, the film is based on the Japanese novel Maria Beetle by best-selling author Kotaro Isaka. In fact, Ryosuke Saegusa and Yuma Terada of CTB Inc., who represent Isaka and the IP, are executive producers on the project. That doesn’t mark the only novel adaptation though. Harvill Secker had previously announced that it will publish the novel Bullet Train in English next year.

The role is a supporting part on the cameo level for King, and this specific role would mark King’s most action-heavy part so far. King has made an even more impressive name for herself this summer, with Netflix premiering the sequel to her smash hit romantic comedy, The Kissing Booth, for which a third film to the series has been already shot with King returning to star.

She was also recently nominated for an Emmy for her role of Gypsy in Hulu’s limited series The Act and will also produce the series for Hulu, making her the youngest person to strike a deal with a streaming network. For the future, she is attached to headline and executive produce the Sony Pictures TV’s limited series, A Spark Of Light, which is based on the bestselling book by Jodi Picoult. She is also set to produce and star in Paramount Players’ The In Between, written by Marc Klein.
