The Incredibles 3 is getting a new director. Brad Bird, who directed the previous two Incredibles movies and other notable animated films like The Iron Giant and Ratatouille, will not be directing the third entry in the Incredibles franchise. Bird was unavailable to direct as he is currently in Pre-Production on his passion project, Ray Gun for Skydance Animation, a film he has been trying to get made for years.
Instead, the directing duties for this third Incredibles movie are being passed onto Peter Sohn, the director of other Pixar movies like The Good Dinosaur and 2023’s Elemental. Brad Bird is still handling the screenplay, which is being worked on. Bird will also be producing the film, along with Dana Murray, who previously produced Soul for Pixar.
Not much is known about this Pixar threequel, except that it will follow the continuing adventures of the superpowered Parr family, which includes married couple Bob and Helen Parr (Craig T. Nelson and Holly Hunter) and their three kids, Dash, Jack-Jack, and Violet (Sarah Vowell). Samuel L. Jackson is also set to return as the voice of Frozone.
The Incredibles 3 is currently in very early development, and no release date is known at this time.
