With Miles Teller and Anya Taylor-Joy, Valentine’s Day might be more sinister than in years past. The two actors find themselves posted to the guard towers above the door to hell in a trailer for Apple Films’ The Gorge, released Saturday.
Teller and Taylor-Joy play two highly trained and skilled operatives appointed to guard towers on opposite sides of a top-secret, highly classified gorge. Their task is to protect the world from an undisclosed, mysterious evil lurking within.
Contact from the other side is strictly forbidden, the two guards bond from a distance, communicating using notes and their high-powered binoculars. “When the cataclysmic threat to humanity is revealed to them, they must work together in a test of both their physical and mental strength to keep the secret in the gorge before it’s too late.”
Teller and Taylor-Joy celebrated the trailer’s release at CCXP / Brazil Comic-Con on Saturday. “What’s the truth about this place?” Teller asks in the trailer. “What’s the truth about The Gorge?” In a clip that shows a snow-filled, overcast wilderness split by a wide canyon with no bottom in sight.
