‘The Flash’ Director Andy Muschietti Acknowledges Films Long Delay

Despite being one of the fastest superheroes, The Flash has crawled on its way to theaters. The movie was first intended to be released on March 23, 2018. Five years later, the movie will finally release in theaters on June 16.

The film has faced many behind the scenes reasons for its delay with director changes, the Covid 19 pandemic, and long list of alleged crimes by lead actor Ezra Miller.

With the second trailer being released (you can watch it below) it feels surreal to think the movie is actually coming out.

Director Andy Muschietti, alongside producer Barbara Muschietti, have spoken about why the film was delayed with Box Office Pro Magazine.

“The only way to release The Flash is in theaters,” both Muschietti’s said. “Warner’s knew that, and we knew that.”

“Of course, it feels great,” Barbara said. “We have worked solidly on The Flash for almost four years. We are very grateful to WB for working with us on using all this time to make the movie better. The pandemic allowed us to have a longer development, and, on the other side of shooting, it allowed us to have the time to explore visual effects like never before. We all knew that The Flash belongs in movie theaters, and we were happy to wait the right time.” (Via ComicBook)
