Paramount has released a new trailer for the latest and potentially final Mission: Impossible film. Mission: Impossible-The Final Reckoning’s marketing has been all about finality and closure, with the line “I need you to trust me, one last time.” being featured in both major trailers.
In this newest look at the film, members of the U.S. government and the IMF have brought the famous Ethan Hunt in, and they reminisce in awe about some of the wild escapades he has been involved in. These include the black vault break-in from the original Mission: Impossible, the Kremlin bombing from Ghost Protocol and the gassing of a security briefing from Dead Reckoning.
The trailer cuts together scenes from previous films while also showing off some of the incredible stunts Tom Cruise will once again be pulling. This time, we see him jumping out of fighter jets and hanging upside down on top of a biplane. Everything about the trailer screams the final mission for Ethan Hunt, with Kittridge saying, “Everything you were and everything you’ve done has come to this.” Be prepared for an emotional ending regardless of the outcome.
The Final Reckoning of course stars Tom Cruise, but alongside him are some familiar faces such as Simon Pegg, Ving Rhames, Vanessa Kirby, Hayley Atwell, Pom Klementieff, Henry Czerny and Angela Bassett. Additionally, some new faces are set to appear such as Nick Offerman, Hannah Waddingham, Holt McCallany, Katy O’ Brian and Tramell Tillman. Expect Tom Cruise to make a big box office splash once The Final Reckoning hits theaters on May 23.
