‘The Daily Bugle’ Website Created in Celebration of ‘Spider-Man Far From Home’ Blu-ray

One of the most surprising moments from Spider-Man Far From Home was its first post credits scene. The post credits scenes have been a stable for Marvel films ever since Iron Man began setting up The Avengers and, unsurprisingly, Marvel has continue this trend to hype fans up for the next movie. However, there was something special about Far From Home‘s post credits scene,  as not only did it ended on a big cliff hanger, but it also brought back one of the most popular elements of any Spider-Man feature.

Spider-Man’s iconic temperamental boss, J. Jonah Jameson, returns in this sequence and played once again by Oscar winner J.K. Simmons. This time, Jameson is seen as an Alex Jones-type newscaster who hosts a controversial website known as The Daily Bugle. This sequence was so memorable that Sony has created an official parody website of The Daily Bugle in celebration of Far From Home’s upcoming Blu-ray release. The site even has video promoted on Sony’s YouTube page, exposing the “truth” that world renowned hero Spider-Man is a menace. The website is obviously made to poke fun at sites like InfoWars, with many short articles trying to uncover the real truth in a mix of fake news.

It’s unknown whether or not Sony will continue to create more promotional satire like this featuring Simmons later down the line. Regardless, this is still a neat idea for Sony to promote the film’s Blu-ray release, and hopefully it won’t be the last of Jameson’s quest to reveal the true motivations of the mysterious Marvel superhero.

Spider-Man Far From Home will be coming to Blu-ray October 1st 2019. Watch the Daily Bugle Promotional Video Below:

Ryan Pineda: When it comes to film, animation, video games and other mediums, I can discuss for hours about how much on why certain films and animated media made me the person I am today. I adore the artistic merit that comes from a lot of pop-culture media and will definitely love to have a conversation about favorite movies any day! I have graduated in 2017 with a BA in Film and Television at the University of Arizona. Been passionate about writing about films due to always having an interesting outlook on the medium. Will always see a film and will definitely be sure to recommend it to someone that I know for a fact would love that movie. Not only that but will also give reasons for why I think that film did or did not work as a movie, and the same can go for other pieces of media like television, video games and especially animated projects.
