The Conjuring writers, Chad and Carey Hayes, are in early development on their next project and will be reuniting with an old collaborator, MovieWeb reports. Starting out in the 90s as TV writers, before moving into features with 2005’s House of Wax remake and 2007’s The Reaping, the brothers would eventually come to prominence for penning the screenplays for the first two entries in the supernatural horror franchise centered around paranormal investigators Ed and Lorraine Warren.
Now, the pair are currently working on their directorial debut, a thriller called Train, and have already cast their lead role: Frances O’Connor, who previously worked with the brothers on The Conjuring 2 as Peggy Hodgson and can currently be seen as Françoise Galpin in the second season of Netflix’s Wednesday.
The film will be produced through Bronte Studios, in Australia, led by Blake Northfield and Michelle Krumm.
Northfield and Krumm expressed their eagerness to work with the brothers in a statement, saying:
The Hayes Brothers are known worldwide as the creators of some of the most successful horror films in history; now it’s their turn to direct. We are beyond thrilled to be producing their directorial debut and incredibly excited to have Frances O’Connor cast. We’re looking forward to introducing this film to the marketplace.
The Hayes expressed their excitement for the project and collaboration in a statement of their own:

Further casting and production details about Train have yet to be announced as of this writing.
