Deadline reported today that Jack Quaid, most known for his lead roles in Prime Video series The Boys and the newest Scream installment, has officially been cast in Christopher Nolan’s upcoming film Oppenheimer, which is set to release on July 21, 2023.
Quaid joins an already stacked A-list cast composed of Emily Blunt, Matt Damon, Robert Downey Jr., Florence Pugh, Rami Malek, Josh Hartnett, and Cillian Murphy, who will star as the titular J. Robert Oppenheimer, the scientist behind the Manhattan Project and atomic bomb.
Oppenheimer is Nolan’s first project since Tenet in 2020. Nolan is not one to shy away from large-scale films, which are evident from his history with Dunkirk, Interstellar, Inception, and The Dark Knight. Nolan will also pen the screenplay, adapted from American Prometheus: The Triumph and Tragedy of J. Robert Oppenheimer, a book by Kai Bird and Martin J. Sherwin. Nolan will also produce the film alongside Emma Thomas and Charles Roven.
Jack Quaid’s most recent outing in Scream this January was met with massive box office success, and he will again star in the third season of The Boys, coming this June on Prime Video. He has also starred in The Hunger Games and Logan Lucky and has lent his voice to many animated projects.
Oppenheimer is filming now.
