‘The Batman’ Remains Highest Grossing Film After Three Weeks; ‘Jujutsu Kaisen 0’ Stands as the Second Highest

Variety reports on the current films that are on top at the box office. The Batman has remained the highest grossing film for three weeks since its release. The Batman is currently the second highest-grossing film of 2022 behind Spider-Man: No Way Home. The Batman is the start of a new Batman franchise from Matt Reeves starring Robert Pattinson in the title role. Batman has remained one of DC’s most well-known and popular properties and the box office success of the new film serves to further prove the popularity of the character. The successes of both Spider-Man: No Way Home and The Batman highlight that people are returning to movie theaters amidst the declining pandemic.

The second highest grossing film to date is a manga adaptation titled Jujutsu Kaisen 0, which was directed by Sunghoo Park. The film is a prequel to the anime Jujutsu Kaisen. Many films did not release in March due to The Batman’s expected popularity. However, Jujutsu Kaisen 0 released in March and has had fewer films to compete with besides The Batman.
