Matt Reeves’ vision of The Batman is one of the most anticipated films of the new year, and after recent news of film delays (Morbius and Turning Red), fans have been left wondering where The Batman stands and if any delays might befall it.
Comic book fans can rest easy as WarnerMedia CEO Jason Kilar has made a statement saying, “We’re certainly paying attention to everything going on with omicron,” Kilar said. “We feel good about the date right now. We’re gonna watch it day by day.”
Hopefully, this plan stays on track and can bring the film to fans sooner than later.
Kilar has also clarified that The Batman will follow a new 45-day theatrical window with an immediate subsequent HBO Max release which he feels will be effective and continue to bring success to the streaming service.
The Batman stars Robert Pattinson in the titular role alongside Zoe Kravitz as Catwoman, and from the trailers so far, it seems to be a darker take on the caped crusader. Pattinson’s Batman will face off against classic Batman villains The Penguin and The Riddler, played by Colin Farrell and Paul Dano, respectively.
The Batman is slated to open in theaters on March 4 with an HBO Max release of April 19.
