According to CNN, Warner Bros. Pictures released a new action-packed trailer for The Batman, featuring Robert Pattinson as Gotham’s bat vigilante and Zoë Kravitz as the highly-skilled, mysterious Catwoman.

The upcoming DC film focuses on Batman attempting to defeat The Riddler, the film’s main foe played by Paul Dano. The new trailer shows high-intensity action sequences, a dark ambiance surrounding the film’s lone protagonist, and an ominous story that is sure to keep fans on the edge of their seats. It also centers around the growing, albeit complicated relationship between Batman and Catwoman.

The official synopsis of the movie reads, “Two years of stalking the streets as the Batman, striking fear into the hearts of criminals, has led Bruce Wayne deep into the shadows of Gotham City. With only a few trusted allies, Alfred Pennyworth, Lt. James Gordon, amongst the city’s corrupt network of officials and high-profile figures, the lone vigilante has established himself as the sole embodiment of vengeance amongst his fellow citizens.”

Amongst the cast is Andy Serkis as Pennyworth, Jeffrey Wright as GCPD’s James Gordon, John Turturro as Carmine Falcone, Peter Sarsgaard as Gotham D.A. Gil Colson, and Colin Ferrell as Oswald Cobblepot/Penguin.

Matt Reeves directs, also penning the screenplay with Peter Craighe.

The Batman is scheduled for release exclusively in theaters on March 4, 2022. Watch the trailer below.
