The 90’s Strike Back with Future Spice Girls Sequel ‘Spice World 2’

So here’s the story from A to Z – the Spice Girls are back together and they will be returning to theaters for the first time in over 20 years. For younger folks unfamiliar with the Spice Girls, they were an all female pop band from London and they were major hit back in the 1990’s. The group consisted of Mel B (Scary Spice), Emma Bunton (Baby Spice), Melanie C (Sporty Spice), Geri Halliwell (Ginger Spice), and Victoria Beckham (Posh Spice).

At the height of their popularity the Spice Girls starred in their own movie called Spice World. The movie was financial success, but it received negative reviews and even ‘won’ some Golden Razzie Awards.

Now with 90’s nostalgia on the rise this is probably the perfect time for a Spice World sequel, which might already be in development over at Paramount. This time the studio has decided to spice things up and make the new Spice Girls movie an animated adventure. There have also been rumors that the Spice Girls would performing voices in an animated superhero movie. Currently it is not known whether this movie is going to be superhero movie, a sequel to Spice World, a mix of both, or even something completely different. The only certain thing is that the Spice Girls are extremely involved in this upcoming project.
