Terry Crews Says Bedlam Could Return For ‘Deadpool 3’

Recent summer blockbuster Deadpool 2 introduced the world to new group of rag-tag superheroes who were tongue-in-cheek derivative of the famed X-Men. Wade Wilson (aka Deadpool) created the X-Force in an attempt to save a young mutant named Russell from a military-trained future-cyborg bent on revenge. This version of X-Force introduced Terry Crews as Bedlam, Zazie Beetz as Domino, Lewis Tan as Shatterstar, Bill Skarsgård as Zeitgeist, Brad Pitt as the invisible Vanisher, and Rob Delaney as an ordinary guy named Peter who’s just along for the ride.

Unfortunately, during their first mission, almost every member died immediately. Only Domino survived, utilizing her ‘lucky’ superpowers to land safely while the rest of her team wildly parachuted to horribly violent deaths.

So with his character dead, why does Terry Crews think Bedlam could return for Deadpool 3? It stems from one simple movie rule: if you did not see it happen, it may not have happened. According to Cinema Blend, although Crews’ Bedlam was crushed by a bus in the sequel, the last time audiences saw him he was being worked on by paramedics. “Actually if you look at the movie, I was on life support,” Crews says. “They were trying to revive me so you didn’t see me get cut up or head cut off. There’s always something. I would love to come back for Deadpool 3.”

Bedlam did not suffer an extreme death like his counterpart Shatterstar, who got chopped up into tiny pieces by helicopter blades, or Zeitgeist, who was chewed up and spit out by an industrial wood chipper. Perhaps it’s possible that Bedlam could come back from the land of the dead.

Additionally, there is the chance that Deadpool righted his wrongs by going back in time to rescue his crew. During a post-credits scene at the end of Deadpool 2, fans see the anti-hero use Cable’s time traveling wrist unit to go back in time to save Peter. It’s conceivable that Deadpool would go back and save more than just one member of X-Force. That said, Deadpool didn’t seem to be in much of a rush to save Zeitgeist, who was mere feet from Peter as he was saved. Given the unexpected nature of Deadpool’s antics in two films now, anything is possible for the third installment.

As it stands now, Deadpool (along with Cable and Domino) will make an appearance in the upcoming X-Force film written and directed by Drew Goddard. Although details are scarce, Crews will likely not portray Bedlam in the X-Force film.
