‘Terrifier 3’ Breaks Box Office Record

David Howard Thornton as 'Art the Clown'

Terrifier 3, the latest installment in Damien Leone’s brutal slasher franchise, has smashed box office records, grossing over $55.1 million globally, with $44.5 million in the United States alone, according to Bloody Disgusting. This milestone makes it the highest-grossing unrated film ever, surpassing the $15.7 million worldwide and $10.9 million domestic earnings of its predecessor, Terrifier 2.

On October 27, Leone celebrated on X, announcing, “Terrifier 3 crosses $50M at the worldwide box office and officially becomes the highest grossing unrated film, even surpassing the highest grossing NC-17 films.” The success marks a major victory for Leone and the Terrifier franchise, which began as a low-budget independent project.

The film overtook the previous record-holder for highest-grossing unrated film, Renaissance: A Film by Beyoncé, which earned $43 million globally. With Terrifier 3 continuing to draw audiences, Art the Clown seems set to linger in theaters through the holiday season. A physical release and SCREAMBOX premiere are anticipated soon, thrilling fans of the franchise.
