Teaser Trailer for Steven Spielberg’s New UFO Movie, ‘Disclosure Day’ Arrives Online

A trailer for Steven Spielberg’s new UFO movie has been released online after months of speculation, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Originally announced in April 2024, information about the sci-fi project had been heavily kept secret throughout the production process. Now, days after the launch of the film’s marketing campaign, with billboards across the country hinting that “all will be disclosed”, a trailer has arrived online that finally reveals more details, including the title: Disclosure Day.

Story-wise, the teaser includes a Kansas City meteorologist played by Emily Blunt seemingly being possessed and speaking in an alien language during a broadcast, and a character played by Josh O’Connor, hinting at a secret, saying that “people have a right to know the truth” and that he’ll give it “full disclosure” to the entire world. Other moments in the teaser include deer and birds acting strangely, crop circles, a car chase, and a character played by Colin Firth in a mysterious agency.

Disclosure Day will be the fourth extraterrestrial-themed film for Spielberg, following Close Encounters of the Third Kind, E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial, and his adaptation of War of the Worlds. The legendary director previously discussed his belief in life beyond Earth, saying,

“I don’t believe we’re alone in the universe…I think it’s mathematically impossible that we are the only intelligent species in the cosmos.”

The film will also reunite Spielberg with frequent collaborators, screenwriter David Koepp and composer John Williams. Koepp previously wrote the scripts for Jurassic Park, The Lost World: Jurassic Park, War of the Worlds, and Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull. For Williams, now 93, Disclosure Day will mark his thirtieth collaboration with the director.

Along with Blunt, O’Connor, and Firth, Disclosure Day also stars Eve Hewson, Colman Domingo, Wyatt Russell, and Henry Lloyd-Hughes. It is scheduled to open in theaters on June 12, 2026.
