Just when you thought it was safe to go back on the road, comes the first teaser for Pixar‘s Cars 3. The third installment of the animation behemoth’s NASCAR-set universe is heading to theaters next summer and now comes our first look. Pixar, coming off the global success of Finding Dory, finds itself still invested in the sequel business as Cars 3 joins an upcoming slate that includes further installments of Toy Story and The Incredibles in the pipeline.

Brian Fee makes his directorial debut on Cars 3 – he has Pixar experience under his belt having served in the art department on both WALL-E and Ratatouille – from a script credited to Daniel Gerson (Big Hero 6, Monsters University). Owen Wilson also returns to voice the star of the franchise, the speedster Lightning McQueen, who in the latest installment attempts to prove he’s the bestest, fastest in the market to a generation of racing cars.
