After constant rumors, speculation, and teases, which include several billboards featuring Taylor Swift’s initials written in the Toy Story font posted throughout several territories this past weekend, it was made official Monday that Taylor Swift will release an original song for Toy Story 5. The song, titled “I knew it, I Knew You,” will be featured in Toy Story 5 and will be central to Jesse’s part of the story. With the song centering around Jesse, the song will find Swift tapping back into her country music roots.

The song is written and produced by Taylor Swift and Jack Antonoff. It will be first released as a single both digitally on all music platforms and as a physical single release, which will be released on June 5th. The song will also be part of the Toy Story 5 soundtrack, which will be released on June 19th.

In a statement provided in a press release, Andrew Stanton commented on Swift’s work on the song.

It’s incredible just how meaningful it’s been having Taylor write and perform this song. Her connection to Jessie and the immediate way she understood what the character was going through was undeniable. The song is so deeply connected to Toy Story. So much so that on first listen, it instantly felt like it had always belonged there, like a long-lost family member. It was kismet.

Toy Story 5 will be released in theaters on June 19th.
