Taylor Sheridan is set to write two new orignal films. The films, titled Visalia and Capture the Flag, are original concepts developed by The Brutalist producer Andrew Lauren, which Sheridan will write and bring to the screen through his production banner, Bosque Ranch Productions, and 101 Studios.
Visalia, originally titled Mojitio before a title change, is a dramatic thriller set against modern Cuban-American politics. The logline is as follows:
“Follows a determined young Cuban woman who escapes the only life she’s ever known, braving treacherous waters and relentless danger in pursuit of freedom in America. But when a historic political shift pulls her back to Cuba, she must confront the uncertain promises of a homeland transformed — and the price she’s paid to survive it.”
Capture the Flag is set to be a contemporary sci-fi/techno-thriller. Its logline is as follows:
“A NASA engineer is thrown into a desperate race to build the first reusable spacecraft capable of traveling to the moon and back, testing his limits, loyalties, and morals when a tech tycoon offers him the chance to make history — if he’s willing to pay for it.”
These two projects are set to be Taylor Sheridan’s return to feature screenwriting after years almost exclusively on television projects like Yellowstone, Mayor of Kingstown, and Landman. He previously wrote the screenplays for films like Sicario and Hell or High Water.
