Official Trailer Drops For ‘Victorian Psycho’

Maika Monroe (It Follows, Longlegs) is set to return to the horror space with the upcoming film Victorian Psycho, directed by Zachary Wigon.  The film is set to be distributed by Bleecker Street.

The film will follow Winifred Notty (Monroe), with her objective being going to a Gothic manor to assist in caring for the children.  “Set in Victorian England, Victorian Psycho sees an eccentric governess arrive at a remote gothic manor, where strange happenings stir suspicion that she’s not what she seems.”  The demon inside her is set to be named “Fred”, and this film marks a new turn in horror for the young actress.  In her previous outings, she was present as a victim to an outside horror threat, but the trailer depicts the tables being turned in the upcoming film.

The supporting cast includes: Jacobi Jupe, Ruth Wilson, Thomasin McKenzie, Jason Isaacs, and Evie Templeton.  Director Zachary Wigon also produced the film, alongside Dan Cagan and Sebastien Raybaud.  Virginia Feito penned the script, also having authored the novel the film is based upon.  In the trailer, which can be viewed below, Monroe is seen with blood on her face in what comes across as an eerie descent into madness.

The film is set to hit theaters on September 25, 2026.
