T.I. Not Returning For ‘Ant Man 3’

Rapper and actor T.I. will not be returning for Marvel Studios’ upcoming film Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania. It hasn’t been confirmed if the reasoning for T.I. leaving the franchise has to do with the many abuse allegations made against him by multiple women.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, eleven women came forward with different abuse stories against the rapper to attorney Tyrone A. Blackburn. These included alleged sexual abuse, alleged forced ingestion of illegal narcotics, alleged kidnapping, alleged false imprisonment, alleged intimidation, alleged assault and alleged harassment. Blackburn is asking authorities in California and Georgia to open investigations, but T.I. and his wife have both rejected the claims: “Clifford (T.I.) and Tameka Harris (Tiny) deny in the strongest possible terms these unsubstantiated and baseless allegations. We are confident that if these claims are thoroughly and fairly investigated, no charges will be forthcoming.”

T.I. has played Dave, a friend to Ant-man (Paul Rudd) In Ant-Man (2015) and Ant-Man and the Wasp (2018). Dave was significant and beloved side character, so it will be interesting to see how the upcoming film will make note of his absence. Peyton Reed will be returning as director for the third Ant-Man, which will be starring Paul Rudd, Evangeline Lilly, Michael Douglas and Michelle Pfeiffer.

Melissa Cusano: I love to escape reality with reading, writing, movies, and music! If I'm not working I love to go to concerts (pre-covid), play video games, and hang out with my dog Ozzi.
