Superheroes are on the rise! The sequel to 2022’s Samaritan has hit the ground running. Amazon MGM Studios is taking on Samaritan 2, which is set to return with the talented Sylvester Stallone. Bragi F. Schut (writer of Samaritan) and Stallone are both set to write the script and help bring the sequel to life.
Samaritan is a film that was adapted from a 2014 graphic novel. It was directed by Julius Avery and follows a young teenage boy named Sam-Cleary (Javon Walton), and his mysterious neighbor Mr. Smith (Sylvester Stallone). Sam is saved from a horrid beating by Mr. Smith (a sanitation worker) and soon suspects that Mr. Smith is something more than what he lets on. The city where these two characters live is suffering from crime. Through vigorous speculation, Sam concludes that Mr. Smith is a legendary superhero who was reported to be dead years ago. To get Mr. Smith to reveal who he is, Sam does everything in his power to force Mr. Smith to come out of hiding and save the city from despair.
The action-filled and comical film was released on Prime Video on August 26, 2022 in over 240 countries and territories. It was an impressive hit and created humongous discourse among superhero fans. The film not only entertains, but reveals the honor in bravery, strength, and acceptance. It is a great film for anyone looking to feel grander than ever.
