‘Superman’ Trailer Teaser Shows First Footage Of The Film

Warner Bros. and the newly formed DC Studios released a teaser for the upcoming teaser trailer for Superman. James Gunn, head of DC Studios and the director of Superman, posted the 30-second trailer with the caption, “… and the countdown begins. The @Superman teaser trailer launches TOMORROW!”

The teaser is the first official footage from the 2025 release. The trailer mainly shows different shots of people looking up at the sky in curiosity and awe. This is undoubtedly done to coincide with the film’s tagline, “Look Up.” Most of the people shown seem to just be average civilians, but one shot does give us a peek at some important characters. At the very beginning of the teaser, we get a peek inside The Daily Planet, the newspaper that Clark Kent and many of his friends work at. In the shot, we see what appears to be Lois Lane, Jimmy Olsen, and Cat Grant. Those characters are being played by Rachel Brosnahan, Skyler Gisondo, and Mikaela Hoover, respectively.

Additionally, there are a few shots in the teaser showing David Corenswet as Superman. We do not see his face, instead showing his back and cape as he flies through the sky and into the clouds. Aside from that, there is not much else of note in the trailer. This teaser is meant to be a prelude to the first full trailer, which will be much longer.

Superman, originally titled Superman: Legacy, wrapped filming in the fall and is set to release on July 11, 2025. The film will act as the launching pad for James Gunn’s new DC Universe of movies and TV shows. While Creature Commandos, which is currently airing on Max, is technically the first show in the new universe, Gunn has confirmed that Superman will be the grand kick-off for the universe. David Corenswet is, of course, playing Superman, but the cast is packed full of other big-name actors and DC characters. The cast features Rachel Brosnahan as Lois Lane, Nicholas Hoult as Lex Luthor, Milly Alcock as Supergirl, Nathan Fillion as Green Lantern, Isabela Merced as Hawkgirl, Anthony Carrigan as Metamorpho, and many more.
