‘Superman’ Brings On Cast Members Christopher McDonald And Mikaela Hoover

With Superman’s release date in a little over a year, the casting department has been picking up more and more talents to round out the group of characters. Christopher McDonald and Mikaela Hoover have just been brought in to join, rounding out more of the Daily Planet’s coverage team. 

Hollywood Reporter notes that their sources stated that Ron Troupe, one of the greatest reporters the Planet has to offer, is to be played by McDonald. Cat Grant, a reporter who sports a crush on Clark Kent, is to be portrayed by Hoover. 

Hollywood Reporter also stated that recently Beck Bennett was cast as Steve Lombard, a rival reporter for Clark Kent. 

Skyler Gisondo rounds out the rest of the Daily Planet’s cast as Jimmy Olsen with Wendell Pierce joining in as Perry White. 

Superman brings the iconic Man of Steel to life again on the big screen, in what is slated to be a reboot for the world of DC films. 

Superman will be played by David Corenswet, who appeared in 2022’s Pearl and will participate in the upcoming blockbuster Twisters. 

Nicholas Hoult will be playing opposite Corenswet as nemesis Lex Luthor. Hoult has also appeared in Renfield and Mad Max: Fury Road, among many other films. 

Superman is expected to hit theaters on July 11th, 2025.
