Supergirl has started its marketing campaign centered around a new TikTok spotlight page that launched on Saturday, December 13. This designated page will provide fans with all the latest information about the film, which will likely include behind-the-scenes photos, promo shots, teaser clips, and press tour highlights. Released earlier in the week, the trailer gives glimpse into what’s to come and will be made available to TikTok users across the United States, Mexico, Canada, various European countries, and South Korea. With this marketing collaboration, TikTok’s classic logo will also undergo a change to align with Supergirl. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the trailer will also be displayed in high-profile public locations such as London’s Vista Building and New York City’s Times Square.
Supergirl is set within the same universe as James Gunn’s Superman, which was very successful in marking a new era for DC and the superhero genre, grossing more than $600 million worldwide. Following Superman’s cousin, Kara Zor-El, played by House of the Dragon star Milly Alcock, whom audiences got a glimpse of in Superman, the narrative will center on Kara’s journey as she confronts a dangerous foe, embarking on an interstellar quest balancing justice and vengeance. Directed by Craig Gillespie, the film features an ensemble cast including Eve Ridley, Matthias Schoenaerts, Emily Beecham, Jason Momoa, and David Corenswet.
Alcock describes Kara as a tough and sardonic character shaped by past experiences growing up on a doomed planet, contrasting with Clark’s trusting nature. Alcock stressed that Kara’s flaws and authenticity are important messages for young women. Supergirl is set to hit theaters on June 26, 2026.
