Despite much anticipation, Supergirl wasn’t able to fly past Toy Story 5, instead it crashing with only 40 million for its opening weekend. Even so, Supergirl still took second place and could be a slow crawl back to the black. Toy Story 5 secured first with a 70 million lead in its second week.
Obsession came in third with 9.4 million in its seventh week, following a staggering run from limited hit to nation wide sensation. Obsession is currently sitting at an extraordinary 233.5 million domestic total. Newcomer Jackass: Best and Last brought in 8.5 million for its premiere, while Disclosure Day trailed behind with 7.8 million in fifth after three weeks.
Backrooms dropped to sixth and saw 4 million in its fifth week as audiences continue to get lost in its yellow wallpaper halls. Scary Movie starts off the final few with 2.75 million after four weeks beating newcomer Thousand-Year Blood War – The Calamity which scored 2.2 million and eighth place. Ninth went to Masters of the Universe, bringing in 2.1 million for its weekend haul after four weeks. In tenth came Mandalorian and Grogu with 1.56 million in its seventh week. One notable addition came in the form of The Invite which in a limited run brought in a solid 379 thousand, performing well for a comedy film. The film is directed by Olivia Wilde, who also stars alongside Seth Rogen, Edward Norton, and Penelope Cruz.
