First premiering at the SXSW Film Festival in March, Soul Boys of the Western World has acquired a U.S. distributor in the form of Sundance Selects. The film, a documentary about the band, is set to premiere to wider audiences in 2015. The film tracks Spandau Ballet’s enduring influence on music, from their start in the 1980s to where the members are today. The film will feature behind-the-scenes videos from the band’s personal stock, as well as recent interviews. Set against the 1980s music scene, the documentary will detail the band’s rise, fall, and eventual reunion. Directed by George Hencken, the film was received well after its premiere at SXSW, and will come to both theaters and video-on-demand when it is distributed some time in 2015.
