Studio Trigger’s New Animated Movie ‘Promare’ Gains an English Cast

A new trailer for Studio Trigger’s upcoming anime movie Promare has just been released. The trailer can be viewed in both the original Japanese or the English dub. The first trailer for Promare was released awhile ago, but this new trailer shows off even more amazing visuals and gives us a better understanding of the movie’s plot.

An official synopsis for Promare is as follows:

“Thirty years has passed since the appearance of Burnish, a race of flame-wielding mutant beings, who destroyed half of the world with fire. When a new group of aggressive mutants calling themselves “Mad Burnish” appears, the epic battle between Galo Thymos, a new member of the anti-Burnish rescue team “Burning Rescue,” and Lio Fotia, the leader of “Mad Burnish” begins. PROMARE uses a bold cel-shaded visual style to tell a blistering action-adventure story, and is the spiritual successor to many of director Hiroyuki Imaishi’s former works.”

Latino Review Media posted the cast list for the movie’s English dub. The cast includes Billy Kametz, Johnny Yong Bosch, Crispin Freeman, Alyson Leigh Rosenfeld, Neil Kaplan, Erica Lindbeck, Kari Wahlgren, Steve Blum, Mike Pollock , John Bentley, Billy Bob Thompson, Matt Mercer, Yuri Lowenthal, and Melissa Fahn. All of these actors are veterans of voice acting, and many of them have already worked on media produced by Studio Trigger.

As stated earlier Promare is being created by Studio Trigger, the Japanese animation studio responsible for series like Kill la Kill, Little Witch Academia, Inferno Cop, and Space Patrol Luluco.

Promare is directed by Hiroyuki Imaishi, who is best known for directing the series Gurren Lagann and Kill la Kill. If you are familiar with either of those shows you will probably notice similarities between  the visuals for Promare and Imaishi’s previous works.

Promare will have a limited theatrical release in the United States this fall. More information on what dates Promare will be shown can be found here.
