STUDIO GHIBLI FEST 2023 Brings Hayao Miyazaki’s Full Feature Catalogue To U.S. Cinemas Nationwide

This year’s STUDIO GHIBLI FEST is scheduled to begin March 25th with the 35th Anniversary screening of Hayao Miyazaki’s My Neighbor Totoro. It is set to include more screening dates than ever before. The lineup also includes the 15th Anniversary screenings of Ponyo, the 10th Anniversary screenings of The Wind Rises, and the first-ever North American screenings of SPIRITED AWAY: Live On Stage, featuring two separate performances filmed during the production’s acclaimed run in Tokyo last year.

Studio Ghibli is one of the world’s most acclaimed animation studios, housing the works of visionary animation directors Hayao Miyazaki and Isao Takahata. The studio is known for an extensive host of Academy Awards and Oscar Award-nominated animated classics, including Spirited Away, Howl’s Moving Castle, and The Wind Rises.

GKIDS, celebrating its 15th Anniversary, will continue its partnership with Fathom Events to bring Studio Ghibli and Hayao Miyazaki’s entire feature catalog to U.S cinemas. “We are thrilled to return to theaters with STUDIO GHIBLI FEST 2023 in continued partnership with Fathom Events,” said GKIDS President David Jesteadt. “Over the past years, it has been incredible to experience the studio’s films on the big screen with fans, and this year’s focus on director and studio co-founder Hayao Miyazaki will celebrate the incredible films one of cinema’s greatest talents.”

Each of the ten animated features will be shown in both the original Japanese and English dubbed versions and will include a selection from the 10 Years With Hayao Miyazaki documentary series.
