‘Spider-Man: No Way Home’ Trailer Confirms Electro, Sandman, and The Lizard

Sony Pictures Entertainment has released the long-awaited final trailer of Spider-Man No Way Home. The three-minute-long trailer answers many speculations about who will be the villains in the movie.

The third installment of Tom Holland’s Spider-Man might just be the most anticipated movie of the year. The excitement among Marvel fans and the internet buzz this film has caused before even releasing is unparalleled. The delayed teaser trailer that came out in late August had set social media and youtube on a frenzy when old-school villains from previous franchises such as Doctor Octavius and The Green Goblin were revealed. Now, foes from The Amazing Spider-Man franchise such as The Lizard and Electro have been confirmed on video.

The trailer shows Peter Parker and his friends facing the aftermath of the world uncovering his true identity after the showdown against Mysterio, in Spider-Man Far From Home. Fellow Avenger Doctor Strange wants to help Peter with a world-altering magic spell that will make everybody forget his secret. This spell tampers with the fabric of reality itself and invites characters from other realities into his. After presenting the premise to the plot the trailer has some spectacular action sequences in which Spider-Man, flashing different suits, fights epic battles against five bad guys from the different franchises. The five villains who have hence been confirmed to enter the Marvel Cinematic Universe through said magic spell are The Green Goblin, Doctor Octopus, Electro, Sandman, and The Lizard. Towards the end of the trailer, the web-slinger seems to get into a heated argument with his superhero friend Doctor Strange and might even seek out help from one of his foes.

The absence in the trailer of Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield, who had both played the superhero from Queens in previous films, is as impactful as the inclusion of every other character. The three-minute video may have revealed the identity of all five supervillains but Spidey fans will have to wait until December 17 to watch the complete movie to put speculations at rest. One more month of wait that might as well be an eternity for hard-core followers of the franchise.
