Writers John Francis Daley and Jonathan Goldstein are currently in negotiations to direct the upcoming Flashpoint film starring Ezra Miller, according to Variety. So far, Warner Brothers has yet to comment. Goldstein and Daley have previously also done work on comedies Vacation and Game Night, suggesting that there might be a comedic edge to the Flash film.
The news follows the recent shake up with Warner Brothers redesigning the DC Universe and promoting New Line executive Walter Hamada to oversee comic book films.
Both Daley and Goldstein are no stranger to the genre as both wrote the script for the successful film, Spider-Man: Homecoming, though executives took their time in finding a director for Flashpoint given the fact that its actor, Miller, was busy with his other film, the second installment of Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them.
Flashpoint was on hold after its last director, Rick Famuyiwa, left the project, but now that Daley and Goldstein are being considered, it looks as though Flashpoint will be moving forward with production.
Only time will tell.
