‘Spider-Verse’ Actor Jake Johnson Offers to Help Kids Through Coronavirus Quarantine

Normally it’s every kid’s dream for school to be cancelled. But with most households quarantining themselves to avoid the coronavirus, being stuck at home can seem like an even worse fate. However, Jake Johnson (aka Peter B. Parker from Spiderman: Into The Spider-Verse) is offering his services to lift their spirits.

The New Girl star posted to his Instagram: “Since the quarantine a lot of parents have DM’d me saying they’ve been watching Spiderverse with their kids. A lot. So, here’s my idea. If your child is home from school and wants a quick encouraging message from Peter B [Parker], then send me an email with their name and I’ll try and send over a short voice note.”

Johnson featured as one of many versions of Spider-Man in 2018’s Into The Spider-Verse, an older and more jaded Peter Parker who unites with Miles Morales, Gwen Stacy, and others to save the multiverse from collapse. On Instagram, Johnson has offered to send voice messages as Spider-Man to cheer up children having a hard time staying at home because of the coronavirus outbreak.

Jon Bailey, the Honest Trailers voice actor commonly known as “Epic Voice Guy” commented: “This is the coolest, dude. Thanks for doing this. As the dad of some anxious kids who are having a hard time dealing with this, I think it’s great that you’re helping with this kind of support. #brofist”

They say not all heroes wear capes. In this case, they were right.
