Spider-Man: No Way Home has received its early Rotten Tomatoes score and Sony has stuck the landing with a perfect 100%. This film currently sits at the top with its positive review score of under 50 reviews, shortly after its premiere on December 14th, 2021. While the perfect score probably won’t last, it does join ranks among only a few other movies that have been considered perfect at their initial release. DC’s Man of Steel also held a score of 100% around the initial time of its premiere and it leaves high hopes that the third movie in the newest Spider-Man trilogy will live up to its much anticipated hype. Those who have attended the premiere admit that it’s utterly fantastic, Tom Holland even exited the theater in tears himself. While it’s not a huge surprise that the movie is doing so well with reviewers, a 100% is hard to come by and even harder to predict.
As the movie won’t premiere in theaters until December 17th, the score is likely to evolve throughout the next few days as reviewers and fans alike begin to digest the film. Once it finally solidifies itself in theaters, the score is bound to change once again, although it is likely for it to stay at a high one.
The movie itself begins right where the last one ended, to no one’s surprise, and follows the story of Peter Parker trying to redeem his reputation while seeking out Benedict Cumberbatch’s, Doctor Strange, for help with his secret identity being revealed. Within the trailer you can see that this decision leads to catastrophic consequences within the multiverse as Strange attempts to rewrite Spider-Man’s reality. This brings villains from other worlds (and previous movies) into battle with Marvel’s most recent Spider-Man.
This will open up a multitude of questions following Peter Parker’s future as the multiverse seems to be split wide open within the film. With the presence of past-movies villains, it also leaves fans hoping that they will also get a glimpse of Toby Maguire and Andrew Garfield, sharing the screen with Tom Holland. Following the franchise’s mass success with the previous Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, there is no character better fit to explore the infinite universe’ with than Spider-Man himself.
The movie stars Tom Holland, Zendaya, Jacob Batalon, Marisa Tomei, Jamie Foxx, Alfred Molina, and Benedict Cumberbatch, Sony and Marvel Studios’ Spider-Man: No Way Home will hit theaters December 17th, 2021.
