EARLIER: Look out, Batman! Here comes the Spider-Man!
Just as Warner Brothers and the DC Cinematic Universe are hyping up tomorrow’s new full-length Justice League trailer with their teaser posters and clips, friendly competitor Marvel Studios has replied with the first teaser posters for their highly anticipated Sony co-production, Spider-Man: Homecoming. Where the Justice League posters show the team’s shiny metallic insignia and upgraded uniforms, these posters show that Tom Holland’s Peter Parker likes to hang out in New York City, sometimes literally!
The posters were released through social media thanks to Marvel Studios and comic book writer Dan Slott, who premiered the second poster on Twitter. The release of these posters could signify a new trailer is soon on the way, both to coincide with Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy: Vol.2 tickets recently going on pre-sale and to combat DC’s Justice League buzz.
Spider-Man: Homecoming is the second of Marvel’s three 2017 releases, the third being Thor: Ragnorok. Directed by Jon Watts, the film will reunite Holland’s web-slinger with his iron-clad mentor Tony Stark (Robert Downey Jr.) as they battle against the Vulture, played by Michael Keaton. The film is set to swing into theaters on July 7th.
