Even with Marvel releasing the biggest movie of the year with Avengers: Endgame, Marvel isn’t over yet with giving fans great new material. The studio has one more film up their sleeve this with an upcoming sequel to Spider-Man Homecoming. Spider-Man: Far From Home will be one of the big high profile releases of this summer and just released it second trailer today. The video opens with statement from actor Tom Holland, giving a fair warning that the trailer contains major spoilers for Endgame for those who have yet to see it.
*Spoilers For Endgame below*
The trailer starts out with Peter Parker still being saddened by the death of Tony Stark. He is seen having a conversation with Happy Hogan, reassuring Peter that Tony wouldn’t have sacrificed himself if he didn’t think Peter could protect the world after he’s gone. It cuts to a quick action scene with Spider Man is using his new mechanical suit to take down some bad guys and telling some police officers to “Keep up the good work” since he will be going on vacation. We then see some various funny moments with Peter Parker and his classmates on their Europe trip and Parker ignoring a phone call from Nick Fury. He then encounters Mr. Fury with him stating how hard it is to contact him, and then takes him to meet Mr. Beck/Mysterio played by Jake Gyllenhaal. Mr. Beck and Fury inform Parker that Beck is from an alternate dimensions which was affected by the snap. Peter is hesitant about the trip fearing that he is not up for the challenge and just wants to enjoy his trip with MJ. The trailer also includes a moment where MJ ensures Peter Parker that she knows about him being Spider Man as well. The trailer ends with Peter trying to get the courage to save the world despite his doubts, with various moments of action set pieces featuring Mysterio and Spider Man.
The trailer follows up to many of Endgame‘s wild events, especially Tony Stark’s triumph death. It also makes many nods to alternate dimensions which could lead to possibilities that Spider Man could go into the Spider Verse at some point within the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Who knows, there might be a good possibility that Miles Morales could show up in this film or a future film with the whole alternate dimension concept being established in this universe now. Whatever happens, this new trailer showcases a lot of exciting fun and action that is expected in a Spider Man movie.
Spider-Man Far From Home is set to release July 2nd 2019.
