‘Spider-Man: Beyond The Spider-Verse’ Delayed Rumors Debunked

Spider-Man: Beyond The Spider-Verse has recently hit a rather bumpy road on its way to theaters most notably pushing its release date back indefinitely after the original March 2024 date was scraped.  As a result of this news rumors started circulating that a ‘creative overhaul’  had begun on the film and that it could be years before the third instalment of the revolutionary animated film was seen.

This extended delay conversation was started by The InSneider who posts scoops. InSneider claimed that the new date for Across the Spider-Verse was going to be 2027 elaborating that since the Marvel Cinematic Universe had announced plans for Spiderman 4 that the animated film Across the Spider-Verse was being pushed back so as not to compete with each other at the box office.

This claim was then shot down by Daniel Pemberton the Spider-Verse composer who posted on X formerly Twitter implying that the claim was grossly exaggerated before moving on.

This was further debunked fully by Karan Soni, the voice actor of Pavitr Prabhajar who shared in a quote earlier in August that recording for Across The Spider-Verse is set to begin in only a few months. Much like many others on the Spider-Verse team, Soni stated that animation takes time. Considering the gap between Into The Spider-Verse and Across it is in the film’s best interest to take its time to refine its revolutionary visual style. Though its first delay was more likely a combination of not being finished and Deadpool and Wolverine release leading to a box office match-up that both studios were hoping to avoid by pushing the March date back.
