Sony Gives Go Ahead on ‘Venom 3’ and ‘Ghostbusters 4’ at CinemaCon 2022

A lot of movie news has come rolling in recent hours, thanks to CinemaCon 2022. Specifically, this has been a big span of time for Sony and Marvel, who announced El Muerto starring Bad Bunny. But that isn’t the only film Sony has up its sleeve. The studio also took pleasure in announcing that a Venom 3 and Ghostbusters 4 are currently in production.

In 2021, Jason Reitman’s Ghostbusters: Afterlife starring Finn Wolfhard and Paul Rudd, as well as Andy Serkis’ Venom: Let There Be Carnage, starring Tom Hardy and Michelle Williams, were massive successes for Sony, so it was not a huge surprise that they would continue either of these franchises – but fans are of course very excited nonetheless.

The Ghostbusters franchise has made films with multiple different casts, so no one is quite sure who will be starring in this fourth film and if any actors will be returning. But as for Venom, it (hopefully) goes without saying Tom Hardy will be reprising his role as Eddie Brock, aka Venom, as this franchise is relatively young, and the two previous films have also starred Hardy.

All in all, based on the extensive collection of films announced and teased by Sony, the coming months should be jam-packed with many action films for fans to enjoy.
